Year 10 History students visited The Centre for Experimental Military Archaeology on Friday as part of their GCSE unit ‘The British Sector of the Western Front’. Students learnt more about the difficulties for medicine, transport and performing surgery in the First World War and were able to tour a replica Western Front trench. 📚

Congratulations to Zephaniah 1, our Week 1 "Count Me In" winners, who achieved an incredible 95% attendance last week! They proudly claimed their queue-jump passes and earned the right to choose Mr Bird a festive hat for canteen duty. 🎄🎅🗓️ This week, we’re changing things up - the focus is on improvement. The group that makes the biggest positive leap from last week to this one will win Christmas Karaoke in the Auditorium on Friday 12th December! 🎙️

Our girls played an away football fixture against St George's yesterday. Despite going 2-0 down, they showed great fight to get the game back to 2-2. Shout out to Dolly who scored both goals, including a volley from outside the box, to Belle who made an excellent save to keep it a draw, and to Freya for being an excellent captain from centre-back, communicating and directing her team mates. Congratulations to Esmae, Noelle and Ivy who all made their debuts. 🤩🤩 We conceded in the last minute resulting in a tough 3-2 loss but we are so proud of the girls battling spirit. ⚽️

Our students had a wonderful time visiting the residents at Birchwood Heights Care Home this week. From sharing stories to participating in poetry readings, it was a special day filled with smiles. Our KS3 Photography Club has been busy getting up close and personal with the festive season. We fielded both Year 7 and Year 8 teams to play netball against St George’s yesterday. Year 8 suffered a defeat but were much improved from our opening fixture.
