Remote Curriculum
At Orchards Academy we aim to use remote learning to support the delivery of the curriculum. Remote learning is our primary resource to support those pupils who are unable to attend school due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The remote learning curriculum is able to offer a diverse range of opportunities including the resources from the lesson, voice over and recorded lessons which students are able to access not only during lesson time but repeatedly should they miss the lesson or need to recap on a specific question or task.
If a student is absent due to testing positive for Covid 19, lesson resources will be uploaded to google classroom for pupils to access.
In the event of a planned enforced school closure a wide range of work will be set using video clips, teacher sound bites and instructions that can be played and repeated as necessary. Additionally there will be more active hands on tasks in subjects such as PE, Art and Drama. In this event all remote learning will be monitored on a daily basis by senior staff.
A TKAT parent support page has been created to assist parents.
This includes information on Google support for parents and students including TKAT videos and slides on how to access the Google classroom, how to hand in documents, how to access via an Xbox, PS4 or Smart TV and lots of other information you may find helpful.
Further additional information will be added to this site to support parents including FAQ's as needed.
