Safeguarding
The most important thing that we can do for the young people that we work with is to keep them safe. This is not an easy thing to do when the modern world and the growth of technology constantly present new challenges.
For information about how we teach safeguarding across the curriculum, please refer to Section 13 of our Safeguarding Policy.
This area of our website is designed to offer you the latest advice and guidance on those matters that cause the greatest concerns and which offer the biggest potential for harm. We also recognise that mental health and support for our children around this is of vital importance. In order to support our community with this we have a Positive Mental Health Policy that has links to many of the main websites and agencies to support emotional well being.
It will be updated by us here at Orchards Academy as new information becomes available and should not replace the personal support and guidance that we offer here at school.
It has been selected to be of help to you in managing the dangers our young people face but we welcome comments, questions and concerns at any time.
Please do not hesitate to contact us here at school should you have any worries at all about your son/ daughter, it is by working together that we can support our young people and tackle those threats that could undermine their potential to be safe.
If you have concerns about a child in the community or feel that they are in danger you can contact children's social service on: 03000 411111 or Dial 999.
