Business & Finance
The business and finance curriculum has been devised so that students can become confident learners in the world of business. Students cover a wide range of areas that underpin business from legal structures and marketing to operations management and funding finance. Topics are sequenced so that students are able to develop knowledge over time and link prior learning to new concepts which enables them to understand the bigger picture behind large scale business decisions. Content is both rigorous and ambitious and challenges students to question their own understanding of financial contexts, developing their ability to be critical thinkers whilst doing so. Application of risk plays a vital role in extending student efficacy with small scale money and implications of big business finance.
Students are then provided with all the tools to apply their knowledge to a synoptic project demonstrating their overall understanding of how a business operates. The course is also supported with a career focus to all trips whereby students are able to ask questions and see real life examples of business and enterprise in the wider world.
