Year 7 Cultural Capital Trip

On Friday 19th April, 76 Year 7 students enjoyed a trip that was "out of this world" to the Greenwich Observatory. Students engaged in a fully immersive visual spectacle projected on a ceiling dome which allowed them to experience visual imagery of planets and space like never before. All students  also engaged in a photography challenge and scavenger hunt around the ground of Greenwich park, discovering hidden Henry Moore Statues, Victorian Hospitals and the marvel that is the Greenwich Meridian Time line. Not to mention the London city sky line boasting of Canary Wharf and the O2 arena.

Spring had not quite yet sprung, with a few April showers catching groups out, but it didn't dampen any spirits, and following a sheltered lunch break, games and activities of football, rounders and some keen photography of the park's grounds were underway in the capital's sunshine.

All staff commented on the exemplary behaviour and conduct of the students and the engagement and efforts put into each activity. The students were a credit to the school and seemed to have a very enjoyable day out.
