Art Club Big Draw
Thursday 14th November saw Christmas come early in the Art Club after school workshops, with a huge range of Year 7, 8 and 9's attending the 'Big Draw' workshop, supported with the Art Clubs Christmas Card and Decorations competition. This years theme of the Big Draw Festival is drawing in motion. Students were involved in stop motion photography drawing with glow sticks, clay imprinting of the movement of objects in clay and a huge host of single line drawing and printing activities to create christmas card textures and backgrounds.
The workshops and competitions will continue after school on a Thursday 3-4:00 and students can make their own creations at home. All entrants for the competition need to be handed in to Ms. Silva or Mr. Ball by 7th December.
Students can get involved in the Big Draw at home too! The 2024 Big Draw Festival theme #DrawinginMotion is a celebration of the dynamic and ever-changing nature of drawing. This theme invites people from all corners of the globe to explore how the act of drawing can capture the essence of movement, energy, and life. Moving beyond the notion of drawing as a static art form, ‘Drawing in Motion’ emphasises the fluidity and vibrancy of the creative process, showcasing how lines, shapes, and forms can convey movement and bring art to life.
