First World War Day
Thursday the 11th November saw Orchards Academy's Year 7 students participate in our annual First World War Day.
Pupils were taught by their subject teachers who delivered sessions on how their subject was influenced or impacted by the First World War. Students learned a wealth of information about the First World War including; chemical warfare, trench life and war diseases, the Christmas truce and even why we wear the Poppy. The students also all designed and painted memorial stones before laying them outside the front of our building.
Well done to both staff and students!
